Becoming a doctor was an easy choice for Dr. Manoel Moraes, who finds a great source of inspiration in his patients. Seeing the extreme needs they go through and the courage, the resilience and the dignity with which they face their problems continually motivates him to try and make a positive difference in their lives. “What I am mostly proud of is to deliver state-of-the-art treatment with above all compassion.” Compassion is the guiding value behind Dr. Moraes’ relations with patients and their families.

Dr. Moraes has over 25 years of experience in oncology and hematology. Upon graduating from medical school in Brazil, he completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Grant Hospital in Chicago along with Dr. Rajendra. After residency, he received his fellowship training in Hematology and Oncology at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Moraes is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology and treats most types of cancers including lymphoma, lung, breast, prostate, and colon, as well as blood disorders such as anemias and myelodysplastic syndrome. He has been honored as a Top Doctor by Northern Virginia Magazine in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Dr. Moraes, the father of two sons, lives with his wife Virginia in Loudoun County. They enjoy sports, swimming and traveling.
